Rowing Scull Insurance
Rowing is a fantastic sport, and if you’re a fan you should probably consider investing in rowing scull insurance. Some people overlook this most important of financial purchases and the consequences can be severe, so if you want to don’t lose out make sure that you’re completely protected at all times.
Rowing scull insurance is there not only to protect you, but also to protect other people. If you were to be involved in an accident that injured someone else or their property you’d have to pay any costs or damages out of your own pocket, but if you’ve got specific insurance for rowing sculls in place (which at the very least should be third party liability cover) you’ll have much less to worry about.
But, it’s also important to think about what could happen to the boat itself. No matter how careful you are accidents can always happen, and if your boat suffers the consequences you have to pay the price. It could be damaged whilst rowing, racing or even whilst being transported, so it’s always wise to look for a policy that can completely cover you against anything that could happen.
So, as well as third party you also need to look for a policy that comes complete with accidental damage, fire and theft cover, and even one that can offer protection against vandalism or negligence. Transit cover should ideally be included as well (although some won’t offer this as standard with a lot of car insurance policies already covering the towing of boats) and always make sure that you’re covered for all UK waterways as well as those abroad, even if it’s only for a set period.
However, make sure you note down the various exclusions with things such as minor damage (i.e. scratches) during transit, depreciation, general wear and tear and corrosion generally not being covered. Although it may seem like a lot of exclusions most things will be covered, and it always pays to do your research so you can see what added extras each company can offer.
That’s really the most important tip of all – research. It’s the only way that you can ensure you’re getting the best cover for your needs and your budget, so make sure to compare a few policies to see what you could be getting. Always be on the lookout for any added extras on offer and take advantage of any discounts going, whether they’re no claims or even just because you’re buying online. As long as you do your research you’re bound to be able to find the rowing scull insurance for you, so take a look around and see what you can find.
